All versions of new Oddworld free to PS Plus subscribers
By Ryan Noik 24 April 2015 | Categories: newsHere’s some good news to start your Friday off, particularly if you picked up Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New ‘n Tasty last month on PlayStation Plus. The game’s developers have confirmed that the impending PS3 and PS Vita versions will in fact now be freely available to those subscribers who downloaded the game on their PS4 when it became available as part of their subscription in March.
This is a bit of an about face – as previously, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New ‘n Tasty was slated as being cross-buy, granting those who purchased the game on their PS4, the PS3 and PS Vita versions as well. However, PlayStation Plus subscribers, who picked the game up for free, were initially exempted from the offer.
Granted, that those who own all three consoles will be able to play the game on their system, for the price of a PlayStation Plus subscription, is obviously a boon. More importantly though, and even more heartening is that the change of heart apparently came from the developers listening and responding to fans of the game.
The side-scrolling puzzle platformer is already available on the PS4 and PS3, with the Vita version still impending during the course of this year.
