Apple reportedly has new MacBook Pros on the way for 27 October event
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 19 October 2016 | Categories: newsThe MacBook Pro is still the powerhouse in our opinion, but the notebook has not received a significant overhaul since 2012, which in modern tech terms is an eternity. This is probably why reports suggest Apple will have a new range of MacBook Pros to debut at its 27 October-dated event next week. According to Recode, the new arrivals are partly to do with the looming holiday season, but also as there has been a lack of native MacOS Sierra sporting devices to date.
For the past couple months, many rumours about what the new MacBook Pros would be featuring have been detailed. The one that seems to stick, however, is the integration of an OLED touch strip above the keyboard, which will house customisable keys.
Precisely what such a feature would enable is unclear at this stage, but a new MacBook Pro is not the only thing we're told is on the way. A few weeks ago, Bloomberg reported that long with the MacBook Pro, we could also see a new 5K-sporting iMac, as well as a refresh for the MacBook Air. Nothing has been mentioned about Apple's USB Type-C touting 12" MacBook though.
With no official mention of 27 October 2016 on Apple's Event site just yet, we'll have to wait and see if new hardware will be greeting us next week.
