Bang & Olufsen brings its Beoplay A1 speaker to South Africa
By Staff Writer 22 April 2016 | Categories: newsBang & Olufsen Play recently announced that the smallest member in its family of portable Bluetooth speakers, Beoplay A1, will be sold in South Africa. Designed by award-winning Cecilie Manz, Bang & Olufsen says it delivers powerful sound depsite its small dimensions. Added to this is speakerphone functionality for taking calls, as well as up to 24 hours of battery life.
The Beoplay A1 comes with a contoured aluminium dome, which gives it a strong protective housing for the technologies within, according to Bang & Olufsen. As part of the design, there are no protruding buttons or legs to snag, and the surface of Beoplay A1 is completely smooth, with the Danish manufacturer noting that it's robust enough to handle the bumps and scrapes of everyday use. It also comes with a soft leather strap for carrying it, attaching to a bag, or hanging it anywhere in the home.
This portable speaker measures 133mm x 48mm and weighs 600g. Added to this, is a two way design using an aluminium cone mid woofer, a silk dome ¾" tweeter and advanced DSP filtering to produce crisp, loud and clear audio. Thanks to this aluminium cone mid-woofer, which uses a neodymium magnetic system and peak power amps, the Beoplay A1 delivers a full range deep bass to as low as 40hz .
Beoplay A1 comes with a rechargeable 2200 mAh Li-Ion battery that provides up to 24 hours portable playtime. Bang & Olufsen also ensures that Adaptive Power Management makes it possible to feed the exact amount of power needed by the amplifiers - and only when they need it. This means the power supply changes dynamically for increased battery life.
Beoplay A1 is available in moss green and natural colour options, with a RRP of R4 999. Both colours are currently stocked at local B&O stores, and selected third party retailers.
