Beoplay H4 added to B&O Play's over-ear headphone lineup
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 9 February 2017 | Categories: newsBang & Olufsen's Play range has seen a number of additions in the past year, and now a new pair of over-ear headphones have been added to the mix- the Beoplay H4. They are wireless and fit in just above the H2 on-ear option in the B&O Play lineup.
Like most of the B&O Play devices, the H4 is designed by Jakob Wagner, and features a combination of lambskin for the ear cups and aluminium for the portion housing all the acoustic elements. The H4 is also the first headphone from B&O to feature a different arch type, as well as making the textile cord that connects between the ear cup and arch visible.
There are three on-device controls to handle Bluetooth (4.2) device pairing, music volume and the ability to take calls. Sticking with the wireless functionality, B&O says the H4 can last for up to 19 hours from a single charge of its 600 mAh battery, and takes up to 2.5 hours to reach full charge via a USB port. If however, you'd prefer to go wired, there is a 1.2 metre long cord to plug into the H4's 3.5 mm headphone jack.
In terms of local pricing and availability, the Beoplay H4 is currently available at the Bang & Olufsen Mall of Africa, Melrose Arch and Sandton City stores, carrying a recommended price of R5 399. At the moment, it is only available in the grey colour seen above, but we're told more colour options are on the way.
