Bose newsletter outs a new feature for its QC35 headphones
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 7 August 2017 | Categories: newsOver the weekend, Bose sent out an email newsletter to its customers Stateside. Unfortunately though, there may have been a serious mix-up, as some recipients noticed a curious button on the pair of Quietcomfort (QC) 35 headphones pictured in the newsletter, one that does not feature on the current noise cancelling offering from Bose.
As such, it has people wondering what exactly this button does. The image file name for the picture states, "email_QC35upgrade_img3.png", which means this is certainly a look at a new version of the company's high-end headphone. While Bose has remained silent on the image and email newsletter mix-up, it does afford us the opportunity to ponder what the button does.
Perhaps the most likely use would be to toggle the noise cancelling functionality of the headphone on and off, so users can quickly find out what's happening around them without removing the headphones. Such a feature was added to the mobile companion app for the Bose QC 35's, but having it as a native option on the headphone itself would make plenty of sense.
While we wait for official word from Bose, it may be a good idea to start saving for the QC 35 upgrade, as the current model retails for around R7 000.
