Facebook is embracing content creators with open arms. Well, at least that's the message they're plugging at this year's F8 Developer Conference. To mark the announcement, live video specialists Livestream showcased their Mevo camera, which will be the first camera capable of streaming straight to Facebook Live. 

The Mevo was first spotted at CES at the beginning of the year, when it was then dubbed the Movi. Despite the name of the device changing, not much else has. It features a small cylindrical body that weighs roughly 130g. In terms of video, the Mevo is fitted with a Sony 4K sensor that can capture content at 4K (3840x2160), and can also record at 720p (up to 20 Mbps). 

It also requires an app to work, with only a iOS version out at the moment. Said app will be compatible with the iPhone 5s or better, also requiring iOS 9 and up. Onboard is a 1200 mAh lithium-ion battery, which is good for an estimated 1 hour of continuous recording. Given that sort of recording time frame, the Mevo looks best suited for YouTubers or other short format content creators. 

Currently available for pre-order, the Mevo will cost $299 for the stand alone camera and $549 for the camera and accessories bundle. Be advised that the prices listed are only for pre-order, thereafter prices are slated to increase.
