Canon Series: The New Gear - Quintin Mills
By Staff Writer 10 July 2015 | Categories: sponsored contentCommercial, food and wedding photographer, Quintin Mills talks about gear that has made a difference in his photography set-up.
TechSmart: Have you recently acquired a new piece of photographic equipment and if so, what? Do you have particular comments you can share about it?
Quintin Mills: I haven’t bought any new kit recently (I do have my eye on some items though), but there is gear that I am particularly happy with and that is my 600EX-RT Speedlights. When I first started using off-camera flash I used the line of sight option available on the 550EX. I upgraded to a set of Pocketwizards which were great, but they had some quirks which frustrated me when they occurred.
And then the 600EX-RT was launched. Wow! Powerful with a built-in transmitter which can control up to five groups of flashes from the main one on my camera. I sold my old flashes and bought four 600s and have never looked back. They are so reliable and flexible that I can't think why they were not invented sooner.
