Comic-Con 2016 Trailers: Legend of the Sword is Guy Ritchie's take on King Arthur
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 25 July 2016 | Categories: newsWhen it comes to Guy Ritchie's film style, they're instantly recognisable. It also fits a particular type of movie genre, or so we thought. Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes) made his name doing pulp fiction-style British gangster films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, but has since graduated to Hollywood blockbusters. His latest offering, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, is one that surprised us, as he's yet to tackle a fantasy film.
This is not the King Arthur that you might be familiar with, as our hero is more Artful Dodger than would-be King. Playing the titular role is Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim), with Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Eric Bana (Hulk), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows) joining the project.
Like all Ritchie films, Legend of the Sword is fast-paced and full of action, if the trailer is anything to go by. Hitting cinemas in March this year, it's one to diarise if you're getting tired of superhero films.
Check if this is another Ritchie movie that might turn into a cult favourite in the the trailer below.
