Crackling speaker sounds surface for certain iPhone X devices
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 13 November 2017 | Categories: newsWhatever your views on the iPhone X may be, one cannot deny the fervour and interest that consumers and media alike have had for Apple's latest flagship device. That said, the rollout of the phone could be a tad smoother, with recent reports about the iPhone X's speakers causing possible concern for potential buyers.
According to a handful of iPhone X users, the onboard speakers for the device produce an odd crackling sound when put on full volume. The issue is said to happen regardless on what media is being played, whether it be a podcast, video or normal music, with Reddit users and MacRumors' forum supporting the claim.
At this stage Engadget notes that Apple have not officially commented on the issue, but have begun collecting diagnostic info which means the issue is at least being investigated. A similar crackling sound problem occurred with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, but was promptly addressed in a software patch. Given the differing reports on the level of crackling, this isolated issue may be a hardware issue.
Nevertheless, it likely won't cause fans of the brand from wanting to get their hands on the iPhone X.
