Darth Vader PS4 coming
By Staff Writer 17 August 2015 | Categories: newsMore Star Wars news today emerging from Disney’s D23 Expo, held over the weekend at the Anaheim Convention Centre in the States, is that PS4 is getting a Star Wars makeover.
According to the PlayStation Blog, Darth Vader is the main inspiration for two new bundles being released come 17 November 2015 (there is no official news on a local release date or price, but we will keep you posted).
The Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle will include a custom 500 GB limited edition PS4 system (CUH-1200 series) and DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller inspired by Darth Vader’s chest panel. Fans will also find Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition, as well as a digital voucher to download four classic Star Wars titles. These are Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter, all playable for the first time on PS4, and sporting enhanced graphics and Trophy support.
There will also be a Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars PS4 Bundle that, apart from the PS4 and controller, also includes the Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars Edition PlayStation Exclusive Hardware Bundle Kit. Inside is a physical copy of Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, the Disney Infinity Base, the Rise Against the Empire Play Set Pack (featuring Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa figures, as well the Rise Against the Empire Play Set piece), and the Boba Fett figure. The digital voucher for the classic games is also included.
If Darth Vader isn’t your favourite, there’s another one coming – the standard-edition Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle. This includes a PS4 system (CUH-1200 series) and DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller in Jet Black, as well as Star Wars Battlefront and a digital voucher for the four classic Star Wars games.
While a Darth Vader PS4 might sound like a great idea, Redditor 7182759 was quick to point to the previous Star Wars Special Edition Xbox 360, inspired by R2-D2 and C-3PO, which had loads more ‘gems’ for fans. Whether or not the Darth Vader editions will include a few extras we don’t know about yet remains to be seen, but for now we might just give victory to Xbox.
