At rAge earlier this month, Microsoft South Africa confirmed the local release date of their Xbox One X console, which is slated to land in early December. When it does arrive, interested gamers may be pleased to know that a host of improvements for the console will also be in tow.

One of these will come via a Fall Update, which Microsoft recently detailed, aiming to make the Dashboard experience on the console far faster. As far as improvements go, some of them will be a bit more superficial, with Microsoft moving the Guide section back to a horizontal orientation. The Guide also integrates a few modes and options into one area, such as signing-in, achievements, messages and broadcasts. It's a system that seasoned Xbox gamers will be familiar with but with the addition of speedier feedback from the controller, according to Microsoft.

The Home interface has also received a style change, keeping it more in line with the Fluent Design that Microsoft has been touting for much of its software of late. Apart from a new look, the Home section will now facilitate pinning items such as favourite friends alongside games and apps. Other style improvements include a 'Light' theme, which harkens back to the days of the Xbox 360 and its UI.

This update is available today, according to Microsoft, and should be making its way to both Xbox One and Xbox One S in coming days or weeks.
