Deathgasm
Release date: 2 October in the States

Metalheads rarely get a time to shine on the big screen, often being the butt of jokes rather than the stars of the show. Kiwi film Deathgasm is set to correct this, and looks like a blood-filled romp well worth head-banging to.

The movie sees Brodie (Milo Cawthorne, Blood Punch) and his mates form a metal band only to get mixed up with a demon called The Blind One. Blood, chainsaws and power chords ensue.

While horror comedies can be a bit of a hit-and-miss affair, Deathgasm’s offbeat New Zealand heritage might just pull it through if the brilliant What We Do in the Shadows is anything to go by.

Don’t bet on a South African release soon, instead join the mosh pit below for some bloodstained NSFW action.

Best bit: O:31 with the realisation that the water guns do not actually contain water.
