Diablo Immortal gets a bad reception
By Staff Writer 5 November 2018 | Categories: newsA mobile game? A ******* mobile game! Fans of the Diablo franchise has been left absolutely enraged after the new Diablo Immortal announcement at this weekend’s BlizzCon event. It might be a case of developers Blizzard not quite managing fans’ expectations after a pre-show blog post noted “Diablo-related news” at the event. Fans have interpreted this as either Diablo IV, or a remaster of the much-loved Diablo II, even though Blizzard stated in the blog post, “We know what many of you are hoping for and we can only say that ‘good things come to those who wait’”.
Still, a mobile game was unexpected, with a now famous red shirted fan asking if this was an out-of-season April Fool’s joke.

Taking place between Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III, Immortal features Deckard Cain and Tyrael, with four other hero classes available to choose from. At the event it was said that the game will be coming to Google Play and the Apple App Store “soon”. When soon is remains to be seen, as well as the cost of the game. Will it be free, like Blizzard’s other title Hearthstone, to then contain a number of microtransactions? In an interview with Gamespot, the Diablo team noted that they are more focused on making sure the game works well before talking about the business model it will run on.
Still, fans are upset, with the cinematic trailer sitting on 387k downvotes on YouTube, with only 15k in its favour. To make up your own mind on Diablo Immortal, hit play on the videos below.
