We’ve reported on survival horror game Soma before, having made it to beta in April. After five years of what the developers call “blood, sweat and tears,” the title has finally been dated: 22nd September for PS4 and PC.

To be even more generous, Swedish independent developers, Frictional Games (also responsible for Amnesia), has done us a favour with a pre-E3 trailer being released. Don’t think, however, that this will reveal much more about the title, it is as strange and weird as we believe the game might be.

Soma tells the tale of strange happenings on PATHOS-2, a remote research facility where reality has been replaced by something far more sinister. We like the final tag line – “The only way out is to do something unimaginable.” What that something unimaginable is can only be left to the, well, imagination.

Hit the trailer below, but before you do we recommend upping the brightness of your monitor. Still not convinced that this survival horror has something to offer? How about 12 minutes of uncut gameplay footage?
