EA Sports uses FIFA 18 sim to predict World Cup winner
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 29 May 2018 | Categories: newsThe 2018 FIFA World Cup is now only a couple weeks away, and for those unable to head to Russia to enjoy, the next best thing may be betting on the outcome of the tournament. While there are a number of different methods to go about picking a potential winner, we might suggest letting the people over at EA Sports help you out.
As has been the case at the previous two World Cups, EA Sports has used its FIFA gaming title to simulate which country would be lifting the trophy in Russia. After crunching the numbers, it was France that came out victorious in a final against defending champions Germany, with Spain beating out Belgium in the third-place playoff game.
Whether or not EA's predictions will come true remains to be seen, but it's hard to argue against their track record, with the company correctly picking Spain and Germany to win the 2010 and 2014 World Cup tournaments respectively.
As such, it may be worthwhile to put a bit of money on France to go all the way. If betting isn't your thing, the World Cup update for FIFA 18 will be hitting consoles and PCs today, so you can play instead of watch the action.
