The 2018 FIFA World Cup is now only a couple weeks away, and for those unable to head to Russia to enjoy, the next best thing may be betting on the outcome of the tournament. As has been the case at the previous two World Cups, EA Sports has used its FIFA gaming title to simulate which country would be lifting the trophy in Russia. After crunching the numbers, it was France that came out victorious in a final against defending champions Germany, with Spain beating out Belgium in the third-place playoff game.

Whether or not EA's predictions will come true remains to be seen, but it's hard to argue against their track record, with the company correctly picking Spain and Germany to win the 2010 and 2014 World Cup tournaments respectively.
