SPOILERS AHEAD!

Much like 1+1=2, Game of Thrones' popularity is an undeniable truth. The highly anticipated sixth season will get underway come 25 April in the States, and as such, the slew of promotional material will soon hit screens the world over. One of the first teasers landed online yesterday, bringing with it more questions than answers.

It opens up on the Hall of Faces, where we last saw Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) as she loses her sight for stealing one of the faces to commit an unsanctioned assassination. As we take a closer look at disembodied heads within the hall itself, we see some of the key characters to have met their demise throughout Game of Thrones to date. To that end, Ned Stark (Sean Bean, Lord of the Rings), his son Robb (Richard Madden, Cinderella) and Catelyn (Michelle Fairley, Suits) all feature.

Perhaps the most interesting ones seen is that of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington, Pompei). Consequently, his return to the series is looking more and more unlikely, which could very well send fans reeling. What does bring the latter into question however, is the appearance of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage, X-Men: Days of Future Past), who is still very alive and well.

Either way, this season looks primed not to disappoint. Hit play on the trailer below and come up with your own conspiracy theory.
