There is indeed a limit to how much disturbing content you can watch on YouTube, and that seems to be set at four hours a day. The Verge reports that YouTube will now limit its part time content moderators from watching too much of these type of videos in order to keep them mentally balanced.

This comes from YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki as she was talking at a SXSW Interactive talk, during the festival currently underway in Austin, Texas.

As to what exactly constitutes disturbing content, it is apparently not Jake Paul videos, since The Verge notes that content flagged with forms of violence, murder and even suicide needs to be watched and confirmed by moderators in order to be deleted off the network. A tough job in anyone’s language, and Wojcicki confirms as much. “This is a real issue and I myself have spent a lot of time looking at this content over the past year. It is really hard,” she said.

Wojcicki further noted that these part time workers will also receive “wellness benefits”, but what that exactly entails is not sure. YouTube has been criticised for paying these part time workers poorly, also not providing them with the benefits that full time workers at the company receive.
