The year isn’t even over and yet already it is looking like 2016 is going to be another bumper year for gamers, with forthcoming games the likes of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Ratchet and Clank, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dishonored 2, Quantum Break, Dark Souls III and if the stars align just so, The Last Guardian, just to name a few. Joining the roster, at least for PS4 and PC players, is a newly announced and extremely stylish Furi from The Game Bakers.

Perhaps the best way to describe the announcement video below is to imagine if some genius chemist mixed a bit of DMC: Devil May Cry (review) with the essence of a trendy dance club, and added just a dash of the vigour of trance/electronic music, shook it well three times and then let it loose. That is what Furi brings to mind, and it looks dazzling.

The plot, what of it is explained, centres around making your escape from an unnamed prison, with your ultimate goal being to slay a jailer and win your freedom. All that is standing in your way is one boss after the next, which means you will need to defeat an array of adversaries who aren’t exactly rolling out the red carpet for your departure.

Furious hacking and slashing ensues, because foes will never learn to steer clear of a sword-wielding assailant, and if they survive, we can only presume their fellow guards and friends will call them Stumpy henceforth. While the game hasn’t been dated yet beyond sometime in 2016, you can take a look at the trailer below right now.
