Garmin goes golfing with the Approach S10 GPS watch
By Staff Writer 30 July 2018 | Categories: newsIf there’s one sport that enjoys their gadgets, it’s golf. We’ve seen the likes of TomTom providing GPS watches for the golf course, and now Garmin is taking pre-orders for its Approach S10.
If you’ve ever used a golf GPS you know what to expect, with the Approach S10 providing yardages to the front, back and middle of the green - as well as hazards and doglegs. It does so for a massive 41 000 golf courses across the world.
While on the course you can keep track of you score on the watch, while it also provides a summary of your round showing total distance played and total time. Done with your game? Upload your scorecards to Garmin Express to have this available on the cloud.
Garmin notes that the Approach S10 has a sunlight-readable display - particularly useful on local courses, while it also gets 12 hours use of battery life while in GPS mode. Depending on the quality of your game, this could mean two rounds on a charge. There’s also the Garmin Golf app to download in order to compete, compare and connect with fellow golfers.
At R3 000, the Garmin Approach S10 might just be cheaper and more useful than that driver you still haven't managed to master yet. Check out the video below to see if the Approach 10 is a gadget you need in your golfing arsenal.
