GoPro posts video from its first-ever quadcopter protoype drone online
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 29 October 2015 | Categories: newsWith GoPro the go-to manufacturer when it comes to action cameras, now the company is about to introduce another silo to its product lineup. A few months ago, GoPro was said to be working on a quadcopter drone, which makes sense given its popularity, albeit with some still weary of them.
As such, the news surprised few, but now GoPro has posted footage from its fabled drone on YouTube. The footage lasts just over two minutes, but GoPro is quick to stress that it is from a prototype drone and may differ from the final finished product. The company also states that the footage has not been stabilised in post production, making the quality of video in the clip below quite impressive.
For those hoping to see some 4K action, the prototype quadcopter drone footage can only be pushed to a maximum of 1440p. As such, whether or not 4K recording will be possible, remains a mystery. This is one aspect that GoPro has to nail down for its drone offering, considering many competitors are trying to deliver 4K from their own products.
As more details about this prototype will no doubt follow in coming weeks, click on the video below and enjoy.
