Google expected to unveil new Google Pixel on 5 October
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 24 August 2017 | Categories: newsNow that the dust has settled on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 reveal, it’s time to turn our attention to other impending devices. Today, that means the next Google Pixel, with leaker de force Evan Blass taking to Twitter to report that it is expected to be unveiled on 5 October.
Google's second-generation Pixel handsets, powered by Snapdragon 836 SoC's, will be unveiled on October 5th.

Mr. Blass’ leaks are often right on the money, so it would be hard to disagree with his claims. That said, no official word has come from Google at this stage. The date, if true, would place the unveiling 366 days after the first Google Pixel and Pixel XL were showcased to the public.
Along with the supposed date of the reveal, Blass also mentions that the 2018 Pixel phones will be running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836 CPUs, which would make them the first devices to do so.
As we wait for Google to confirm a date for the new Google Pixel press conference, of greater importance to us, is when the company will start bringing its hardware to South Africa in an official capacity.
