Google opens the Daydream VR platform to all developers
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 26 January 2017 | Categories: newsAt Google I/O last year, the company showcased a first glimpse at its Daydream VR platform. Designed with the Android Nougat operating system in mind, Daydream will provide a dedicated portal for specific VR headset users to play Android or Google content, as well as watch videos and movies.
Until now, the Daydream VR platform has remained in a limited SDK format for some developers, but the Google Dev site earlier this week announced that anyone can now create apps for Daydream VR.
With this year's iteration of Google I/O set for May, opening up the platform to more developers would certainly given them enough time to put something together to showcase at the conference.
