By Robin-Leigh Chetty 17 December 2015 | Categories: newsIf you ever find yourself waking up for a two decade long coma and want to know what is happening these days, a good place to start is the internet. An even better place to begin is the Google Trends website, which consolidates data from the world's Google searches into the top trending stories. At the end of each year, the site weighs in on Google's Year in Search and 2015 is no different. The company has recently unveiled a video that puts this year's search bar in perspective.
Some of the top searched terms out there includes the Syrian refugee crisis, Cecil the Lion's death, Black Lives Matter and Je Suis Paris. Perhaps this year more than any other, there has been a greater outcry for justice as pertaining to social and global issues, with race, terrorism and inequality coming into sharp focus.
