Feast of violence on new Game of Thrones trailer

April 2015

Finally, the harsh, cold absence of Game of Thrones on our screens is almost over, with a new trailer reminding that Season 5 is coming next month. In the latest trailer it seems that the realm is beset by chaos and violence. What’s more, the Lannisters, Starks and Baratheon's have more than an ominous forthcoming winter to worry about, with Khaleesi getting very serious about her plans, and none of the ambitious ruling families are exactly given mercy.

Best bit: A full grown dragon taking flight (1.39)

Now you can see Tomorrowland today

May 2015

Disney’s Tomorrowland, is looking spectacular and certainly like it is amongst this year’s sci-fi blockbusters to watch out for, as a newly released trailer attests. The alternate reality sci-fi blockbuster has solid pedigree behind it, with director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and co-creator Damon Lindelof (Lost) at the helm. George Clooney (Gravity) and Hugh Laurie (House) guide a troubled young girl, played by Britt Robertson, tasking her with saving the future, possibly of two worlds. And we thought our adolescence was a pressure test.It opens in the US on the 22nd May.

Best bit: The first time you see Tomorrowland in all its glory (1.14).

Latest Daredevil trailer questions good vs evil

What do you get if you cross The Arrow with The Dark Knight Rises and add Gotham to the mix? Quite possibly, this latest trailer for the Netflix-inbound Daredevil. Matt Murdock – not played by Ben Affleck this time – is blind, and definitely has some fearsome skills, but it is Hell’s Kitchen that seems like the protagonist here, oozing with menace and danger, with dark corners and ominous shadows. Take a look for yourself.

Best bit: Matt Murdock first being trained (0.50).

San Andreas trailer brings back 2012

May 2015

Disaster movies are nothing new, but the latest trailer for San Andreas looks like the movie will show the true devastation of the San Andreas fault cracking on an epic scale, to rival 2012’s vision of a globe-changing devastation. The movie will see helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson, Journey to the Centre of the Earth) aka The Rock - and yes, we get the irony of his wrestling nickname in this movie particularly - reuniting with his wife (Carla Gugino, Night at the Museum) for a good cause. Together they brave the calamity to rescue their only daughter (Alexandra Daddario, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) trapped in San Francisco.

Best bit: The split second rescue by helicopter before a skyscraper collapses (0.44).

Inside Out charms in new trailer

July 2015

Clearly the geniuses at Pixar (Finding Nemo) have been busy, if the latest trailer for Inside Out is any indication. Directed by Pete Docter and Ronaldo Del Carmen, the animated movie can also boast a solid cast of comedic talent, including Amy Poehler (City and Parks), Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project) and Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). The movie follows a young girl, Riley, and the animated emotions  inside of her (Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear) as she and parents and move to a new city and her memories start disappearing.

Best bit: The husband’s inner reaction to his wife (0.19).

Run all night

March 2015

If you enjoyed Taken’s no holds barred darkness and intensity, then Run all night is definitely up your alley. The latest trailer certainly doesn’t pull any punches, as a hitman (Liam Neeson, Taken, Taken 2) ends up facing off against his brutal, former boss (Ed Harris) after the latter goes after his son. Expect the main ‘with a certain set of skills’ to use them to the full.

Best bit: Liam Neeson and Ed Harris face to face (1.17)
