If you're a child of the early 90s, you likely remember the Game Boy. Nintendo's handheld device was the envy of any gaming obsessed kid. With consoles quickly overtaking their handheld rivals, now is certainly a great time for a bit of nostalgia. At least that's how the people at Hyperkin see it. The company has officially revealed a working version of its Smart Boy Android phone accessory, which we saw in development last year.

Now the company has begun taking pre-orders for the Smart Boy, at $59.99 a pop, and allows Android users to play Game Boy and Game Boy Colour cartridges, although precisely how is not detailed by Hyperkin. The reason it's limited to Android devices, is the fact that Hyperkin is aiming for users to improve the open-source code themselves. As such, if you're not an early adopter, it might be worthwhile waiting a bit for the Smart Boy to move on from the Dev Kit mode it's currently in.

If, however, you're craving this gaming add-on, delivery on pre-orders will only be shipped after 1 December 2016, so be prepared to wait it out.
