Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman bid farewell to X-Men
By Ryan Noik 1 April 2015 | Categories: newsBoth Jennifer Lawrence and Hugh Jackman, who play Mystique and Wolverine respectively, have revealed that they will soon be bidding goodbye to their characters.
At the premiere of Serena, Lawrence commented that the next entry, X-Men: Apocalypse, will be her last time donning the blue makeup, but didn’t provide reasons for the decision – or whether it’s due to Mystique meeting an untimely end in X-Men: Apocalypse. Hugh Jackman, meanwhile, posted an image on Instagram, with his claws out and the words “one last time.” This though, refers to his upcoming reprisal of the role for the third Wolverine movie. Its unclear as yet whether he will be appearing in Apocalypse, or future sequels of the X-Men franchise itself.
Granted, a third and final Wolverine movie would make sense; the stand alone focus on his character hasn’t actually found as much footing or fan support as the mixed ensemble X-Men movies.Nonetheless, it’s difficult to imagine anyone else stepping into his shoes and flexing Wolverine’s adamantium claws.
