Justice League virtual run series sees Aquaman taking the lead
By Staff Writer 31 August 2020 | Categories: newsThis Sunday (6 September 2020) sees the return of the Justice League Virtual Run series, and this time it’s our favourite amphibian Aquaman’s time to be the front runner. If you are not familiar with these events, the Justice League Virtual Run series sees runners and walkers from across the country signing up for the race and completing a distance of 2.5 km, 5 km, 7.5 km or 10 km in their own neighbourhood on race day.
There’s a good reason behind this, with the organisers of the event, Sportsvendo, partnering with institutions and making contributions to beneficiaries such as Headstart Kids, which provides food packs and nutritional support to children aged six months to five years. Their target is to aid in the distribution of 150 000 meals and/or nutritional support over the remainder of the year, so the more entries, the more Food Packs and meals their beneficiaries can distribute.
The Justice League Virtual Run Series also introduced a way to assist older children by allowing schools across the country to participate as a unit. Once a school comes on board they are provided with a unique tracking link that their respective school community can use to enter and on these entries linked to a school the series also provides an additional R10 per entry to the school to assist them with their much needed fund raisings activities to keep schools and children’s education going during these difficult times.
A big reason to enter the race is the awesome Super Hero Kit goodie bag you receive. Each person that enters gets a collector’s edition medal per event, a limited-edition t-shirt and a special button badge too. The Aquaman race is no different, plus they throw in a nice Energy Bar for extra energy on the day.
Entries start at R190 per person (R160 if you are a student), with family and group packages also available. If you enter today for the Aquaman race, you will receive your Super Hero Kit within 8 days after the date of your entry. However, the couriers are quite on the ball so we believe your kit will arrive before race day.
There are two more races in the Justice League Virtual Run to sign up for after Aquaman on Sunday. The Batman race will be taking place on 4 October and The Flash Run happens 8 November 2020.
