When it comes to gaming, whether it be PC or gaming, the price of hardware can certainly stack up. As such, value for money wherever you can find it is always welcome, which is how LG is positioning its LG27UD58 monitor

It's a 27" (diagonal) offering that costs an estimated R6 999, and is designed to be the perfect compliment for your PS4 Pro or Xbox One S, according to the South Korean manufacturer.

The Ultra HD panel is IPS in nature and delivers a 3840x2160 resolution, which means it can handle 4K gaming and graphics intensive titles like Battlefield 1. It also boasts LG's FreeSync technology, which is said to drastically decrease screen tearing and stuttering.

Other features include a 9.7 ms input lag, a NTSC colour gamut of 72% and 178-degree viewing angles. Added to this is the ability to swivel the screen into a vertical position, which should come in handy for split screen gaming with a mate.

While LG has billed it as a gaming monitor, it also has a place in the office. To that end, it has up to 14 different split screen options available, for multitasking. The LG27UD58 should be in local retailers in coming weeks.
