Lego Forma is bricks for grown ups
By Staff Writer 2 October 2018 | Categories: newsFor the most part, Lego knows that adults actually still want to play with their bricks. Yes, we have the Millennium Falcon and the Yellow Submarine, but now the Danish company is bringing something new to the table. The Forma project is what the company calls a “premium LEGO experience designed for adults looking for a fun, engaging way to reconnect with their creative side.” The first of these sets lets you create fish, and has made its debut on Indiegogo, racking up 4032 backers.
Designed with Lego Technic, the Lego Forma Koi contains two hundred and ninety four elements that create a ‘swimming’ fish. This retails for $45. Apart from building the set, there are also different skins available to customise your fish, with a shark, splash koi and ink koi (colour it in yourself) for $15 extra.
Now, here’s the bad news. Currently it’s for Europe and US only, and these will only ship in early 2019. Nonetheless, the fact that it’s doing so well on Indiegogo should mean that we could just see future Forma products hitting South African shores. Let’s hold thumbs.
