Life is Strange developers reveal new Vampyr details
By Ryan Noik 4 December 2015 | Categories: newsYou have to hand it to vampires, the mythical creatures of the night have had impressive staying power when it comes to sucking profits and interest from popular culture, insinuating their way into books, movies and games over and over again. It should come then as little surprise that another game is on the horizon featuring the bloodsuckers, called Vampyr.
The impending game seems promising for two reasons, it uses old language spelling, which implies that its vamps won’t sparkle or wear oodles of makeup, and secondly, it’s from developers Dontnod, who were behind the episodic time-turning mystery game, Life is Strange.
Most recently, the developers divulged a few more details of what to expect from Vampyr over on the PlayStation blog.
The action RPG will apparently combine combat, exploration and investigation elements and will be set i war torn 1918 London, just as the city comes under siege by the Spanish flu.
As for the protagonist into whose shoes you will step, this time it’s a doctor and scientist named Jonathan Reid, who specialises in blood both before and after he becomes one of the supernatural creatures.
It appears though that there will be a little bit of Dishonored channeled here, as killing people will have unforeseen consequences on the wellbeing of the city in the short term as well as impacting on the story down the line. Perhaps while killing and drinking blood will be essential for your survival, you may need to exercise some discretion when and how frequently you visit the buffet table called humanity.
While there is no release date as yet, it will be stalking onto PS4, Xbox One and PC when it did slip out of the shadows.
