It’s official: the developers of the enjoyable Lords of the Fallen (LoTF), Deck13, confirmed that the studio has entered the ID@Xbox program, and thus will be launching titles on the Xbox One. More specifically, the developers, who showed what they were capable of offering in the aforementioned title, has four exclusive, as yet unnamed, titles lined up for Microsoft’s Xbox One console.

What isn’t quite clear yet is whether Lords of the Fallen 2, which has already been confirmed as being in development, is one of those four. To be honest, it could go either way, with neither result coming as a huge surprise. The Lords of the Fallen franchise is a new one, and right now, faces stiff competition from the likes of the Dark Souls (review) franchise.

Also, there is another heavy-hitter RPG waiting in the wings, just as daunting as one of LoTF’s hulking brutes, called The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt, which has already gone gold. Thus, keeping it multiplatform makes more sense from a sales perspective, garnering a wider fan base.

Having said that, depending on how ambitious the sequel is, it may well be pitched as the Xbox One’s answer to PS4 exclusive Bloodborne (review), and yes, the Xbox One does still need one.
