Microsoft bundles Xbox One and Gears of War Ultimate Edition for 25 August
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 10 July 2015 | Categories: newsSan Diego Comic Con (SDCC) is underway this week, but this does not mean that gaming falls by the wayside. Quite the opposite in fact, as Microsoft held a SDCC panel to talk about some of its most recent plans. That includes the Xbox, as Gears of war co-creator Rod Fergusson divulged details about its Gears of War Ultimate Edition, which is a remake of the original 1996 game that debuted exclusively on the Xbox 360.
Ultimate Edition is now being bundled with the Xbox One console for pre-order, with some exclusive content added to the mix as well. Along with an all-black console, gamers will receive a Superstar Cole multiplayer skin and early access to the Gears of War 4 beta.
Although the official retail price has not been detailed, Microsoft has advised gamers to consult their local retailer regarding the bundle. The game itself is a redesigned 1080p version of the original Gears of War at 60 fps, and features a competitive multiplayer mode with 19 maps to duke it out on.
If you're unfamiliar with the Ultimate Edition offering, check out the video below and see whether that bundle is worth getting.
