If you've been wanting to be more productive on Windows, the latest Preview Build of Windows 10 may be of interest. Detailed on the Windows Blog recently, Microsoft is working on an Ultimate Performance mode.

According to Microsoft, the more intensive mode is specifically for users who are running Windows 10 Pro on a workstation or AIO desktop PC. Without unpacking the finer aspects, Microsoft does note that the mode removes the restrictions on power management and boosts the raw speed of the PC.

Added to this are a few user interface changes, with out-of-the box, productivity and enterprise focused applications, appearing as dedicated tiles in the start menu, with lesser used apps being hidden.

Microsoft is said to still be fine-tuning some of the micro latency settings for the new mode, and it's unclear when it will move out of the Preview Build phase into an official rollout to users.
