Netflix unveils new icon, but says logo is here to stay
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 21 June 2016 | Categories: newsA subtle introduction has arrived at Netflix. The streaming giant has served up a new icon for users to get familiar with, but the company notes a full scale redesign of the logo is not happening anytime soon. The addition occurred recently, and rather surreptitiously, but a few Twitter users noticed it, asking if a full scale change was imminent.
Netflix has stated that the icon is just something new that they've added to their overall creative elements, and that the logo users are accustomed to is going nowhere.
Apart from its US Twitter profile picture, it's unclear where this "N" icon will be cropping up, as The Verge notes that new teasers and press materials for shows like Orange is the new Black, still bare the full Netflix logo. Whether or not users like the look of the icon and black logo, remains to be seen, but we don't think there'll be as much song and dance about it as there was for Instagram's recent redesign.
