Have you caught them all, or simply grown uninterested in the Pokémon Go mobile game? Well developer Niantic Labs has a new species of Pokémon ready to go, and hopefully inject a bit of life in the title. Named Ditto, this Pokémon essentially looks like a purple blob with pretty lifeless eyes and a straight line for a mouth. 

While its design can be viewed as a little boring, there's apparently a good reason for this, as Niantic Labs says Ditto can take on the form of other Pokémon. In the unveiling video below for example, the Pokéball was aimed at and thrown towards a Pidgey. Upon inspecting what was caught, a Ditto was discovered. 

As such, capturing a Ditto is more a combination of luck and endeavour than it is with other rare Pokémon. Whether or not this is enough to make Pokémon Go popular once again, remains to be seen.
