Purge starts as First Purge trailer released
By Staff Writer 10 April 2018 | Categories: newsForget the new Han Solo movie, this is the origin story you really want to watch. The Purge franchise grew bigger than anyone would ever have imagined, and now the fourth movie is lined up, taking us to the start of this savage, one night only murder fest.
The First Purge is a prequel to the trilogy of previous Purge titles and shows how the New Founding Fathers of America came about this brutal, some say necessary, tradition.
Beginning with one community, for 12 hours all crime is legal, but to enhance the uptake of the Purge, some agent provocateurs/special ops are sent in to stir the pot so to speak. The result is, well, bloody and murderous.
We’re happy to see Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny) back on screen, while Y'lan Noel (House of Another) also stars. Gerard McMurray (Burning Sands) takes the director’s chair, while James DeMonaco, the writer behind the previous Purge titles is back for the screenplay.
The First Purge is set to be released on Independence Day, 4 July, at least Stateside. Have a look at this NSFW trailer below to see if this will sit well with your karma.
