Samsung launches Galaxy Studio in Johannesburg
By Ryan Noik 2 September 2019 | Categories: newsRiding the wave of the recent announcement of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, Samsung has gone on a charm offensive, launching its Galaxy Studio in Johannesburg and Durban.
More specifically, the Galaxy Studio pop-up arenas can be found in Sandton City Shopping Centre in Johannesburg and Gateway Shopping Centre in Durban, till the 9th of September, and then at the Canal Walk in Cape Town and the Mall of Africa in Midrand from the 17th till the 30th of September.
The purpose of the Galaxy Studios, according to Samsung, are to give users an opportunity to go hands-on with the newest devices for themselves. As well, the Studio includes activities, experiences, well-known personalities and competitions. These include a fun 3D Scan and Dance activation featuring the Springbok mascot, hands on product demos, a Galaxy X Asphalt 9 Gaming area, live radio competitions as well as the chance to win Springbok jerseys.
That’s not the only way that Samsung is hoping to entice users to pick up a new Note. The company also confirmed that those who buy either of the new devices will receive a pair of AKG headphones worth R1500 for free.
If you do venture to either of the Galaxy Studios, be warned – judging by our brief hands on with them at the launch last month, these are *very* attractive devices – far easier to pick up than they are to put down, whether you opt for the Aura Glow, Aura White or Aura Black (our favourite) variants.
They aren’t cheap though, with the Note 10 going for R20 000 and the larger Note 10 Plus costing R23 000.
