Noted and well regarded Photoshop guru, photography instructor, photographer and author, Scott Kelby, dropped a bombshell recently in a long and detailed video why the long time Nikon user has (gasp) switched to Canon.

Kelby, who actually switched his system six months ago, was responding to what had apparently become a continuous question in the interim - why he made the drastic move. To his credit though, Kelby does not run down Nikon in any way, in fact, giving the company and his previous camera due affection and credit.

However, his reasoning behind the move, which you can watch in the video below, also gives food for thought to those wondering which system they should invest in. Chances are, more than a few photographers have wondered what life is like on the other side of the Canon-Nikon divide.

Even if you have no interest in switching whatsoever, Kelby is as lively as ever, which makes the video worth watching in any event. Two other things to watch out for are the off the cuff nod to Apple’s design and an interesting factoid about Kelby’s first DSLR.
