While Square Enix’s Star Ocean 5 is undergoing development on the PS3, the game will apparently also be released on Sony’s next gen console, the PS4. This, incidentally, appears to be Square Enix’s mystery game, with the unnamed website giving way to this, and about which the company has been hinting of late. The game will be set between the second and third iterations in the franchise, with Fidel Camus playing the hero this time around.

Taking place on a remote planet some 6 000 light years from Earth, called Feycreed, the story will chart a tipping point between peace and conflict. While little is known about the game at present – you can try infer as you wish from the Japanese trailer below – it’s still a weighty announcement, especially since the last visit to the Star Ocean universe was six years ago.

Don’t’ hold your breath though, the game still has a long voyage ahead of it, and is apparently only a third complete.
