How do you make the Victorian era look cool? You throw in some diabolical Werewolves and a secret organisation charged with protecting humanity into the mix. That's essentially the premise behind The Order: 1886, as London serves as the backdrop for this mysterious war.

Now that we've set the seen, developers Ready At Dawn has offered a glimpse into how the game came to be. In the video below, the team takes viewers through the process of how London was rendered in the game, with an approximate 37 000 images being taken as a reference for designers, capturing everything from the historical landmarks which existed then, to individual cobblestones.

In our opinion, the game captures the atmosphere of Victorian era London perfectly. It's not just us who believes so, as acclaimed historian and author Jerry White also weighed in on the game's look. He says Ready At Dawn have captured the "the poorly lit, grimy, choking streets of the English capital almost exactly as it was over 100 years ago." High praise indeed, but check out the video for yourself, as well as the launch trailer for The Order: 1886.
