These are the confirmed launch titles for the Nintendo Switch
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 16 January 2017 | Categories: newsLate last year, Nintendo revealed its hybrid Switch console to the world. While the different gaming modes piqued our interest, we were more immediately concerned with the types of games that will arrive alongside the Switch on its 3 March 2017 launch (also in SA). The Wii U for example suffered from a lack of 'hardcore' gaming titles when compared to the PS4 and Xbox One. Now, we have a clearer idea of the Switch's launch titles, with Nintendo confirming only four at this stage.
The Nintendo-developed games include 1-2 Switch, Just Dance 2017, Skylanders Imaginators and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The first three games don't quite fit into hardcore category, which is why Breath of the Wild will be such an important game for Nintendo in our opinion, and perhaps even determine whether the Switch flies or falters out the gate.
Following the initial launch, a further 30-plus titles will be released on the Nintendo Switch over coming months, with notable highlights being Super Bomberman R, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey. Furthermore, third party developers are also joining the Switch wave as Street Fighter, Skyrim and Minecraft will arrive too.
