Have you ever considered what the possibilities are of you falling victim to a cyberthreat or cyberattack? Have you thought about the protection of your online identity and what this means?

The number of internet users is growing every day. According to Internet World Stats, by June 2017, the number of users in South Africa amounted to over 29 million. However, the Kaspersky Cybersecurity Index shows that in South Africa, 37% of users are unprotected when it comes to their connected devices and 30% have been affected by cyberthreats. As we find ourselves engaging with technology every day, we must not forget that we need to protect our online identity and information on our smart devices from prying eyes.

Kaspersky Lab has recently launched an updated version of Kaspersky Internet Security. The updated version ensures even better protection against ransomware, is able to protect Mac computers while using public Wi-Fi networks and also offers an extra layer of protection with a secret code for Android users to prevent specific apps like instant messaging services, social media and email from being seen by others if they are accessing a user’s phone.

In line with this, Techsmart and Kaspersky Lab are offering two readers a chance to win an activation license code for the latest Kaspersky Internet Security product. Entries close on 17 October 2017.
