This week saw Sony brings its latest flagship device, the Xperia XZ, into the country. To mark the occasion, the company has partnered with a handful of carriers and online retailers, bundling other Sony devices and products in the process. To compare all the deals on the table at the moment, we've rounded them up below.

takealot

One of the only local online retailers to list a pre-order deal for the Xperia XZ, takealot.com's offer is certainly attractive for those who want bang for their buck. Currently going for R12 599, if you pre-order the Xperia XZ, you'll get a 6" Xperia XA Ultra phablet thrown in the mix too, which normally retails in the region of R8 000. There are two things to bear in mind. One, the deal only lasts until 15 October and only applies to the first 100 pre-orders, leaving little time to act. Two, the Xperia XZ only comes in Forrest Blue, which isn't a bad thing as it's probably the best colour option for the device.

MTN

Now for the carriers. MTN has also gone the bundled route, this time serving up a Sony Smartwatch 3 alongside the Xperia XZ. This pre-order deal kicked off at the beginning of this month, and will remain valid until 31 December. Like takealot, however, the pre-order deal is limited to the first 1000 people that take it up. As far as pricing goes, MTN notes that consumers can look to pay between R499 and R599 per month on a 24-month contract.

Vodacom

Lastly Vodacom, which has gone for a free device and content combo. Those who pre-order the Xperia XZ will also receive a Xperia E4 (3G), as well as 12 movies from the Xperia Lounge. This deal kicked off last week on 7 October, and similarly carries a proviso with the E4 device on offer limited to the first 100 people that pre-order. The 12 free movies, however will be part of the deal regardless. Contract pricing has not been detailed by Vodacom at this time.

For those who aren't swayed by any of these deals, the 5.2" Sony Xperia XZ is set to retail for a recommended R12 999. If that doesn't entice you, the smaller 4.6" X compact sports the same 23 MP camera as its big brother for an estimated R9 999.
