X-Men:Apocalypse adds Olivia Munn to cast
By Ryan Noik 14 April 2015 | Categories: newsBrace yourself for yet another addition to the cast of the next X-Men movie, as it has been confirmed that Psylocke, played by Olivia Munn (The Newsroom, Deliver us from Evil), will be joining the team of mutants in the franchise’s next outing.
What’s interesting though is that Munn’s character, Betsy Braddock aka Psylocke, could go either way. She could either be a villain, considering that her character made an appearance in the comics as one of Apocalypse’s Horsemen, as well as doing a turn as a member of the X-Men.
Either way, Psylocke should be a formidable adversary/ally, as she combines warrior skills with psychic ones. One concern though is that with the cast might get a bit too top-heavy to do most of the mutants making a new appearance justice. Indeed, along with familiar faces such as Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult reprising their roles as younger Magneto, Professor X and Beast respectively, we will also have a host of other mutants’ stories to keep track of, such as Quicksilver, Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops.
One reassuring comfort of course is that once again Bryan Singer will be at the helm, so hopefully it wont be a mash-up, but rather deliver a coherent, engaging story again.
