South Africa’s largest technology, gaming and geek culture exhibition is moving to a new home. The rAge Expo, a mainstay in every gamer’s events calendar, will be hosted at Fourways Mall’s newly developed rooftop event space from 5 to 7 December 2025.

Organisers confirmed that the expo will be among the first major events to utilise the 50 000 m² covered rooftop venue, offering visitors a unique blend of large-scale exhibition space with direct access to the mall’s extensive shopping and entertainment facilities.

The organisers believe the venue shift promises to elevate the rAge experience, with improved access, expanded lifestyle and dining options, and upgraded facilities for visitors. Organisers also hinted at new content for the 2025 edition, including fresh themed zones and surprise additions to the expo floor, which will be announced in the lead-up to the event.

Visitors can expect the return of fan-favourite features, including esports tournaments, cosplay showcases, technology exhibits and the popular BYOC LAN event. The organisers have confirmed that new interactive experiences and innovations are being developed to ensure both newcomers and returning fans have fresh attractions to explore.

Currently, tickets are priced at R190 for a “Day Pass Ticket – Early Bird Offer”, or R430 for a “Weekend Pass Ticket – Early Bird Offer”. An on the day ticket is priced at R240, and if you are looking to buy tickets to the BYOC LAN, it will set you back R950.

Michael James, project director of rAge Expo, described the relocation as a bold step. “rAge has always been about breaking the mould and doing things differently. Being among the first to use this incredible rooftop space is a perfect example of that,” James said. “We couldn’t ask for a cooler venue. It’s easy to get to and brings a fresh vibe that our community is going to love.”

Fourways Mall, currently undergoing a transformation under new management, is positioning itself as a comprehensive entertainment destination. By December, the mall is expected to feature a range of new attractions designed to enhance the shopper and visitor experience, providing an ideal setting for an event of rAge’s scale.
