Vox Telecom has recently completed two very rigorous processes with leading IP networking, ultra-broadband access, and cloud technology specialist, Alcatel-Lucent to become the first, and currently only service provider in South Africa, to have achieved both SIP interoperability compliance and a direct partnership agreement.
“Although separate, the processes and requirements for each of these strategic investments by Vox Telecom, will further entrench an already longstanding and successful partnership with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise,” says Murray Steyn, head of Communication Services at Vox Telecom.
From a direct partnership agreement, customers will not only have access to lower pricing, and world class technical support but Vox Telecom believes there is a peace of mind that comes from having the backing of one of the leading global PBX brands.
“Vox Telecom is a leading telecoms service provider in South Africa committed to delivering cutting-edge technology in the enterprise and consumer sectors. It is for this reason that we are proud to have partnered with Vox Telecom on our South African go to market,” says Ravin Naidu, regional director South and East Africa, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.
Adds Steyn, “the process of securing a direct partnership, and SIP Interoperability certification is rigorous, and should reassure customers that have, or are evaluating their PBX solutions, that we are their partner of choice.”
The certification and approval of its SIP trunks means that as a voice service provider, Vox Telecom’s voice products work optimally with the Alcatel-Lucent PBX. But the biggest advantage is the cost savings because there is no requirement for third-party hardware costs that are otherwise required as part of turnkey voice and PBX solution.
“Our partnership with Vox Telecom is instrumental in strengthening Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise within South Africa, as it offers us a new path to the market and exposes our solutions to prospects who are looking for an innovative and comprehensive suite of enterprise solutions,” says Naidu.
Concludes Steyn, “we are committed to providing our customers with turnkey solutions, that include voice, data and collaboration and an endorsement of this nature from a global leader like Alcatel-Lucent helps us to continue to build on this vision.”
