10 billion songs downloaded from iTunes
By Hanleigh Daniels 25 February 2010 | Categories: newsApple reached yet another milestone by crossing the 10 billion threshold in songs downloaded from its iTunes music service yesterday. Reaching this milestone on 24 February is extra special for Apple as it was also the 55th birthday of its iconic co-founder Steve Jobs.
The Californian IT company has been running a competition for the past couple of weeks in which the lucky person to download the 10 billionth track would be rewarded with a $10 000 iTunes gift card. The name of this fortunate music fan is yet to be made public.
