If you are a runner looking for more comfort than serious speed on your training runs, then Adidas has a new shoe for you. The Supernova Rise 2 is the latest addition to its comfort-tuned Supernova franchise, designed for the everyday run.

Adidas believes this shoe is built to provide even more comfort than its predecessor, complete with a new upper, engineered with a refined sandwich mesh material for a more breathable and secure fit. This, the German apparel brand states, allows the shoe to be 4% lighter than the original silhouette, thanks also to an updated enhanced heel pillow. There’s even more around the heel, including an improved heel construction incorporating a refined foam collar for further comfort.

What will you find underfoot? The Supernova Rise 2 is a lot like the previous version, with full-length Dreamstrike+ super-foam with an updated formula to offer improved comfort and cushioning. This is paired with a Support Rod system, embedded in the midsole to provide support as runners transition from heel to toe, as well as stability when needed. To provide grip underfoot, the Supernova Rise 2 features an ADIWEAR outsole instead of Continental rubber, which Adidas says provides optimal traction out on the road.

The last bit of specs necessary is the fact that it has a 10 mm drop from the heel (36 mm) to the forefoot, with a weight of 275 g for a UK 8.5 Men’s.

The Adidas Supernova Rise 2 looks like a no-mess, no-fuss type of shoe, ideal for a neutral runners looking for a comfortable run. It retails at just below R3k, and is available to buy at www.adidas.co.za/running-shoes, the app, and select retail stores.
