With our dandy notebooks and netbooks, we’re not quite the biggest proponents of desktop PCs. But if they all start looking like Acer’s eMachines EZ16600 PC it might be a different story. OK, so the eMachines might not have the specs to back its stylish all-in-one look, but it is billed by Acer as an entry-level machine.

The PC runs on the Intel Atom N270 processor usually found inside netbooks, and comes with 2GB DDR2 memory and a 160GB SATA hard disk. More interesting though is that the PC is integrated in an 18.5” LCD widescreen display with 16:9 aspect ratio and 720p HD resolution. The Acer runs Windows XP Home and also comes standard with a SuperMulti DVD-ROM, a multi-in-one card reader and embedded high-definition audio. Connectivity comes in the form of Built-in Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.

The Acer eMachines EZ16600 PC should be perfect for a family looking to add a stylish, space saving machine to the house, as long as there’s not too much expectation on the performance side.
