An extra hour of airtime with MTN
By Johan Keyter 29 November 2010 | Categories: newsWith the holidays fast approaching (for some people at least), South Africans across the country will be spending more time on their phones, be it to catch up with family or to plan that trip down to the coast. To help us talk longer during this festive season, MTN has introduced a new offer which gives every customer who buys a prepaid recharge voucher of R30 or more 60 minutes of free airtime.
The special offer officially started yesterday, and states that any MTN PayAsYouGo customer on the Call per Second plan, who buys a recharge voucher for R30 or more will earn an hour's worth of extra airtime for free. The 60 minutes of extra time can be used at any time of day and to any network, but will expire after a 48-hour period, calculated from 00:00 on the day the voucher was purchased.
“Summer in South Africa is all about connecting with family and friends, catching up on the year's activities and getting together to celebrate. All of this means spending more time on calls, which means spending more hard-earned cash that could be spent on something else,” said Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer of MTN SA.
“So, if you buy a R30 voucher on a Wednesday morning, for example, the 60 free minutes will remain valid until 23:59 on the Thursday night, giving you plenty of time to talk up a storm! And, if you use up the 60 free minutes, all you have to do is buy another R30 recharge voucher – and you’ll get another free hour of talk-time,” explains Taukobong.
The promotion runs from the 28th of November to the 24th of December 2010 and is open to all MTN PayAsYouGo customers on the Call per Second plan.
